Sturgis Rally 2008

Sturgis South Dakota where more than half a million motorcycle enthusiasts visit each summer to share their love of motorcycles. Every summer during the first week of August you the quiet serenity of the Black Hills of South Dakota is broken with the exhaust roar of thousands of motorcycles driven by people from all walks of life attending the world's largest motorcycle rally.

The Sturgis Rally began in 1938 as a motorcycle race and stunt competition and today still remains an integral part of the event. Five blocks of Main street shuts down to regular vehicle traffic and is open to motorcycles only. Here you will see thousands of motorcycles thundering down Main street with tens of thousands of bystanders lining the sides of the street. all having one thing in common, their passion for motorcycle riding and the freedom it represents.

If you decide to take a break from the party atmosphere and get a little peace and quiet you can jump on your bike and take a nice scenic ride through the Black hills and visit Mount Rushmore or marvel at the majestic Devils Tower.
